Canadian Red Cross Psychological Instructor – Discipline Specific Course, May
Big hearts First Aid is a Canadian Red Cross Instructor Development Centre (IDC). The Red Cross Psychological Instructor Discipline Specific Course empowers candidates to effectively teach Red Cross Psychological First Aid courses. The course presents educational learning theory and teaching principles to help the participant understand the basics of instruction. Psychological First Aid Instructors support the delivery of the Red Cross Psychological First Aid and Self-Care & Wellness courses. Candidates will develop competencies in facilitating case-based learning, and how to support learners in understanding a resiliency-building approach to emotional, psychological, and social wellbeing.
Course Details
Pre-requisites:
- You must be 18 years of age
- You must take the Psychological First Aid, through an approved Red Cross provider, before registering into the Instructor Course.
- You must take the Fundamentals of Instruction (online and in-class) before registering into the Instructor Course. Please reach out to us directly if you wish to take the Fundamentals only and do not plan on taking the entire CRC First Aid Instructor Program before as we can register you in just the fundamentals portion

In-class Sessions (16 Hours or 2 days)

The Teaching Experience is scheduled once the in-class steps are successfully completed. You will meet twice with the Teaching Experience. Supervisor to discuss lesson plans and other details.
